In Jack’s early years he was hooked on two 2 things, these where airplanes and classic Harley– Davidsons. So Jack found a way to combine both ways . He became a aircraft mechanic in the Royal Netherlands Air force, working for 24 years on military jet aircraft like; NF- 5 Northrop; F-104 Starfighter and the F- 16 fighting Falcon. And in the evening he worked in his shed on building and restoring Harleys.

After several years of working the evening hours in his shed: overhauling engines ,gearboxes and restoring classic Harleys, Jack started in 1997 with Motorcycle Rescue as an official business. Working from his 32m² shed and his house as storage, specializing in parts ,restoration, overhauling the famous flathead 750cc side valves. In Europe well known as the Liberator. Soon there where other types visiting the shed such as J/JD, Knuckleheads, Panheads, Shovelheads and Indian scouts & Chiefs . Shows and Swap meets all over Europe where visited to sell parts and do business. |
|
In 2001 Jack was retired from the Air force and he swapped in to his new fulltime job, working on classic Harleys and Indian motorcycles in a new building with an 75m² showroom and an 200m² workshop. |
